ASMS signs pact with ProClime Services for biochar-based soil solutions

They will focus on developing scientifically validated biochar-integrated fertilizer formulations that enhance soil fertility, improve water retention, increase crop productivity, and enable long-term carbon sequestration

Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS), formerly known as Bartronics India Ltd., has signed an agreement with ProClime Services Private Limited to jointly develop and commercialise next-generation biochar-based soil enhancement solutions to improve agricultural productivity.

“The collaboration brings together ASMS’s extensive rural network, agricultural expertise and formulation capabilities with ProClime’s specialisation in biochar production and carbon project development,” an ASMS statement said here on Wednesday.

The two companies will focus on developing scientifically validated biochar-integrated fertilizer formulations that enhance soil fertility, improve water retention, increase crop productivity, and enable long-term carbon sequestration.

The initiative will also evaluate biochar produced from sustainable feedstocks such as bamboo, lantana, senna, pine needles and agricultural residues to determine optimal formulations for commercial deployment.

“We will also tap opportunities in generating carbon credits through biochar application to help farmers get additional income,” Raja Krishna Murthy Morla, Head (Agri Tech Business) of ASMS, said.
