ProClime is pleased to announce that Erik Solheim has joined its Advisory Board, strengthening the company’s strategic capabilities at a time when climate action is rapidly shifting from commitments to on-ground implementation.
Erik brings extensive experience in international climate leadership, having served as Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Over the course of his career, he has worked at the intersection of environmental policy, diplomacy, and development, supporting the advancement of environmental and energy transition initiatives across multiple geographies.
He has also served as Norway’s Minister of Environment and International Development, chaired the OECD Development Assistance Committee, and contributed to major global initiatives including rainforest conservation, renewable energy deployment, and climate finance mobilisation. His experience as a peace negotiator further reflects his ability to align governments, institutions, and stakeholders around complex, multi-party transitions.
ProClime operates across India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh, working closely with governments, institutions, and communities to design and implement high-integrity climate projects.
The addition of Erik Solheim to the Advisory Board reinforces ProClime’s focus on:
• Expanding direct partnerships with national and state governments
• Aligning carbon project development with evolving policy frameworks
• Scaling implementation-led climate solutions across South Asia
“As climate action moves into an execution phase, the ability to work closely with governments and implementation partners becomes critical. Erik brings a unique combination of global policy experience and practical insight into how large-scale climate transitions are delivered. His guidance will strengthen our ability to design and implement climate programmes that will positively impact the regions we operate in,” said Kavin Kumar Kandasamy, Founder & CEO, ProClime.
Erik Solheim, Member of Advisory Board, ProClime, said: “The next phase of climate action will be defined by real-world deployment, particularly in emerging markets where the opportunity for impact is greatest. ProClime’s work in building partnerships across governments, communities, and markets reflects the kind of integrated approach needed to accelerate this transition. I look forward to supporting the team in scaling high-integrity climate solutions across South Asia and beyond.”
