ProClime, together with its project implementation partner Vedic Green Solutions, conducted a 2-day technical and implementation planning workshop on 12 and 13 August 2026 as part of the ProClimate Agriculture and Agroforestry Project—Karnataka (Project ID- VCS 6146). The workshop focused on strengthening the project’s preparedness by conducting Focused Group Discussion (FGDs), Stakeholder Consultation Meetings, Baseline data collection, field implementation, validation, verification, and future carbon-credit issuance.
The main objective of this workshop was to integrate climate action, sustainable agriculture practices, and agroforestry factors to improve farmer livelihoods and build robust agricultural landscapes across Karnataka.
The 2-day workshop focused on discussing the following:
The Sustainable Agriculture project focuses on empowering farmers by encouraging them to use Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) rice cultivation, planting native trees species, encouraging agroforestry, and Sustainable Land Management (SALM) practices, which will improve soil health through Soil Organic Carbon (SOC), make better use of water, and increase productivity.
The project aims to unite over 30 farming clusters spanning across districts like Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Raichur, and Uttara Karnataka under the label of Karnataka’s agro-climatic zones. This farmer-led transformation will position Karnataka as a model for climate-smart, regenerative agriculture in India
