Following the announcement of its Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR) project in Himachal Pradesh in November 2025, ProClime today marked the next step in the project’s progress with the handover of an initial token amount of INR 10 lakh to the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The fund is intended to support early-stage coordination as the Him Evergreen Project moves towards on-ground implementation. Preparatory work for the ARR project is currently underway, with plantation activities expected to commence in the second half of 2026, subject to field readiness and seasonal conditions.
As part of its approach, the project places emphasis on generating local employment and capacity building. In the coming phases 20 students from Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry are expected to be engaged as interns to support project activities. Five project roles will also be filled locally to support coordination, implementation, and long-term project oversight within the state.
“This milestone reflects steady progress as we move from planning towards implementation,” said Vijayakumar Rangaraju, Chief Mission Officer, ProClime. “Our focus remains on working closely with state institutions and local communities to deliver afforestation outcomes that are practical, inclusive, and long-term.”
The project will continue to be implemented in partnership with the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, it aims for farmer participation, transparency, and sustained ecological benefits.
